Ana Cristina Araújo holds a PhD in Modern and Contemporary History. She is a tenured associate professor in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. She is a member of the UNESCO Chair Territorialidades, Humanidades e Globalização das Luzes (Territoriality, Humanities and Globalisation during the Enlightenment), in the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. She was a guest professor in the University of Salamanca (Spain), the University of Tours (France), the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul and the Federal University of Minas Gerais. She has worked on and is currently active in several national and international projects. She is the editor of the Revista de História das Ideais (Journal of Intellectual History).

Main interests and research topics: Intellectual and Cultural History; the Enlightenment and Liberalism; Conceptual History; Transnational Modern and Contemporary History.
