António Valério Maduro holds a PhD in Contemporary History from the University of Coimbra. He is a researcher in the Centre for Transdisciplinary Development Studies (CETRAD-UTAD), a member of the Portuguese Association of Industrial Archaeology (APAI), the Portuguese Society of Rural Studies (SPER) and of the scientific committee of the Alcobaça Wine Museum. He teaches in the Francisco Rodrigues Lobo secondary school and in the Instituto Universitário da Maia (ISMAI). He serves as editorial secretary to PASOS – Revista de Turismo y Património Cultural.

Main interests and research topics: Cistercian Order; Rural History; Cultural and Industrial Heritage.
