Maria Amélia Álvaro de Campos holds a PhD in Medieval History. She is a guest lecturer in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. Her research focuses on Coimbra’s parishes and collegiate churches during the Middle Ages, studying their institutional history and urban integration. She has published on Ecclesiastic History and Urban and Social History and paleographical and diplomatic editions of Portuguese medieval sources. She has undertaken projects in the context of her PhD and postdoctorate, with funding from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. As a researcher, she has contributed to international projects. She has cooperated with other R&D units, such as CIDEHUS (University of Évora), CRIHAM (University of Limoges),  LAMOP (University of Paris 1) and LEM-CERCOR (Jean Monnet University).

Main interests and research topics: Urban History; History of the Secular and Parish Clergy; Prosopography; Digital Humanities.
