Mission and Goals
With a focus on historical research (Medieval History, Modern History and Contemporary History), the CHSC resorts, whenever necessary and feasible, to knowledge from other areas and subjects within the Social and Human Sciences in either a complementary or integrated approach. The CHSC aims to:
- Stimulate scientific research in the field of History, supporting its members’ activity and establishing multidisciplinary, international and intergenerational teams;
- Promote the international dissemination of historical research, supporting its members’ research activity and establishing protocols, projects and international partnerships;
- Provide groundwork for research proposals from students of younger generations, supporting the activity of undergraduate, Master’s and PhD History students;
- Promote scientific dialogue between researchers, holding meetings, conferences, seminars, congresses and other activities;
- Promote the widespread dissemination of research results, supporting their publishing;
- Foster dialogue between the scientific community and society at large, establishing protocols and consortia with non-academic institutions while simultaneously promoting knowledge dissemination activities;
- Actively raise awareness of the intrinsic value of historical knowledge.
