Manuel Negri holds a PhD in Medieval Studies from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. His dissertation was distinguished with the Prémio Extraordinário (Outstanding Award). Currently, he works as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Galician Philology of the University of Santiago de Compostela (I2C – Mod. A, financed by the Xunta de Galicia). He is a member of the Hispanic Association of Medieval Literature (AHLM). His research projects focus primarily on Galician-Portuguese medieval religious poetry, most notably the sources of the Cantigas de Santa Maria and their connections to the historical, cultural and literary context of the Iberian Peninsula in the thirteenth century.
