Laura de Mello e Souza

Laura de Mello e Souza holds a PhD in History from the University of São Paulo, where she retired as a full professor. Since 2014, she holds the Chair of Brazilian History at Lettres Sorbonne Université. She was a guest lecturer at several European and American universities, visiting Professor at the University of Texas-Austin and a professor in the Guimarães Rosa Chair at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She coordinated the project Dimensões do Império Português, financed by the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo. She supervised thirty doctoral theses, and is member of the Academia Brasileira de Ciências.
