Estefanía Piñol has a degree in Art History and a Master in Cultural Heritage from the Faculty of Arts at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. She is currently a PhD candidate in Art History at the same institution. Her PhD project focuses on the study of medieval art in Catalonia in the nineteenth century and its relationship with the emergence of national and heritage consciousness.

Main interests and research topics: 19th century medievalism; 19th century Spanish historiography; medieval art; Catalan Gothic painting.
