This work by Luiz Teixeira de Sampayo (researcher, Ambassador, and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) offers a concise yet thoroughly documented account of the efforts undertaken by Portuguese authorities, following the Congress of Vienna, to reclaim possession of the town of Olivença and its surrounding territories, ceded to Spain by the treaty of June 6, 1801.
